Remember how my street looked like this a couple weeks ago?

Well, this is what I wore when I went running yesterday.

It was in the high 60′s all weekend! That’s the great thing about Atlanta. While our winters are short, we get enough cold weather that we really appreciate a warm Spring-like day. It’s not like living in a place where it’s hot all the time. I have no doubt that our winter is not over though. It really doesn’t start to warm up for real until the end of March or beginning of April.
This week was a step-back week on my running schedule. I drove down to midtown to meet Joan and we did about 4 miles around the park. There were so many people out. It was crazy. Really made me miss living intown, but I can always drive there (about 20 minutes) so it’s not that big of a deal.
Tonight, I tried another yoga class with Laura. I’ve only been to Atlanta Hot Yoga a handful of times and I’ve always done the Hot class. I wanted to try another style to see how I liked it. So Laura and I braved the West Coast Super Flow class. Yes braved. It was so hard! The website said it was good for beginners but it seemed pretty advanced to me. I think I might stick with the hot class until I get more comfortable. There were some things that I enjoyed more about this class however. Mostly, that there was music. The hot class is silent.
I need to relax. I went straight to Kroger after yoga and didn’t get home until 9:30. Then I tried to finish a home improvement project. I didn’t finish but really need to decompress before I go to bed.

I was in the park too! It was almost hard to run – there were so many people! Haven’t seen it that crowded since… well, since it snowed.
Music during yoga would be a nice change to the silence for sure! I definitely don’t think I’m ready for the west coast flow class yet…
It was hard!!
Yeah for warmer weather!
I’m so jealous of your warmer weather! 60s sounds perfect!! I have to go to Charlotte, NC for a conference soon and I’m really hoping it’ll be warmer than it is here. I know it’s only January but I’m so ready for spring…
Good for you for trying a new class. Even if you didn’t love it, at least now you know, right?
I should have gone for a run outside today with the nice weather and all. Something about sunshine just makes me want to drink beer on a patio though, so I did that instead.
That’s fun too!
I’m actually enjoying the warm weather too! Normally, I want it to stay cold in January, but now that I’ve got a taste of spring, I want it to stay.
Yay for warm weather! Our temperatures got up to about 56-57 today and it was incredible! Went for a nice 4 mile walk and just soaked up that sun! Unfortunately, they’re calling for snow again this week so I knew I had to live it up while I could! I can’t wait till it’s warm for real though!
We had a lovely warm day at 70°, but we’ll have a high of 40s and a low of 20s by Tuesday! Yikes! O.o
Ha, wow– the difference a week makes, right?! Crazy!
I’m so glad that we took that class… it was the most challenging thing that I’ve done in a long time! I loved that he played Bob Marley at the end- it felt like a group therapy session or something!
I forgot to write about the Bob Marley sing-a-long! I liked that part too.
I love that we get a taste of winter, but it’s pretty mild. It would be so sad not to wear cute boots and sweaters for at least part of the year.
Yep, I’m still planning on doing the Georgia Half in March too. I’m hoping we don’t get one of those freakishly hot days like the year you did the marathon. It’s so unpredicable that time of year.
Wasn’t the weather just INCREDIBLE! It reached the 70′s in Charleston yesterday. I was in total heaven. I’m not a winter girl at all. Glad you got in a nice run and a tough yoga session. What a day!
super jealous of your weather. It was actually kind of warm here yesterday. Like 45!
so jealous of your 60 degrees!!!!!
Jealous!!! It’s hard to believe you were just dealing with all that snow.
Right?! The weather is SO EFFING WEIRD! I loved it this weekend though – I was out and about as much as possible taking it in – beautiful. Interesting about the yoga! No music? I don’t know if I could handle that.
Um, just a bit jealous of your weather – they are expecting 24 inches of snow for us by Wednesday – WTF?!
Hope that you got some relaxing in, Lee! I can’t wait for 60 degree temps!!
Atlanta is a nice compromise in terms of climate. Here in FL, we really have nothing that resembles winter.
Oh my gosh. It was 37 here yesterday and that felt warm! It looks SO pretty where you live.
I can’t imagine doing yoga in silence! I prefer music, too.
oooo 60 degrees!! very nice!!!
and I love Hot Yoga, but I haven’t been able to take it in months……..just way easier to go to my campus gym. Soon maybeeeeeeeee?
HAPPY MONDAY!
