Jason and I did something different this morning. We played tennis! He’s been wanting to play for a while, so at around 10:30, we went to a local park with tennis courts and played for an hour. And I really mean “played” because we are both kind of awful. But we’re learning! I need to work on my serve. I cannot get it in the serving box (or whatever it’s called) to save my life!
It was pretty hot out by the time we got home. We had originally intended to take Murphy to the Tucker Summerfest, but we knew he’d be uncomfortably warm, so we left him at home with his “baby” Scooby Doo.

Scooby Doo is the only stuffed toy that he won’t destroy. He also knows the command, “Get your Scooby!”, when he leaves it outside. I need to make a video of that. For a dog that doesn’t obey very well, he can get his Scooby with the best of them.
I digress.
We decided to venture out to downtown Tucker sans dog.

It ended up being a tiny little festival. There was a band…

and a big wheel race…

‘and King of Pops…

I had Banana Cinnamon, Jason had Jalapeno Margarita.

The best part was that we ran into one of my best friends, Maya, and her family. We’ve been friends since high school.

(Seriously, I need to retire the bra I’m wearing. And I’m really glad that I called attention to that because you probably wouldn’t have noticed. Or maybe you would have.) We spent about two hours at the festival

before the heat and sun started being too much. Look at those freckles! (For the record, I didn’t mean to take an up close photo like this and I am wearing sunscreen, mom.)

All in all, it was nice that they had a festival less than a mile from my house, but I wish it had more to offer. It was basically just food trucks, some events and that’s it. I would have liked to see some more art booths. Maybe next year.

Sounds like a fun day! We waited on our AC to get fixed and then ran school errands with the boys. Now, it is time to chill out and hopefully watch a movie soon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Lee!
Bella has one stuffed animal that she won’t destroy either. It is a stuffed turtle…for some reason she loves that one but completely rips apart every other one.
If you lived here I could give you some tennis lessons!
Oh I need to see a video of Murphy fetching Scooby–that’s too cute!
Murphy is so cute! I love how he s with scooby. Baikey’s most prized possession is a stuffed bear that is almost the same size as him. He didn’t get the memo to treat it gently, though,
. Those popsicles sound awesome! We were at a little town festival and got a blood orange basil one- so good!
I love how many street fests you guys have access too! Tennis sounds fun too, and like a great workout!
Yeah, there is a ridiculous amount of festivals like this. I don’t really know why!
Such cute pictures! (and LOL on the bra, tho I didn’t notice!!) Such a fun impromptu-ish day!
Scooter just reduces all of his plush toys to stuffing. That’s why he doesn’t get them anymore. Thusly, he has moved on to sneakily chewing some of the kids’ toys.
The festival sounds worthwhile since it’s close.
Murphy does that to every other stuffed toy we’ve ever gotten him. I have no idea why Scooby Doo gets preferential treatment.
McKinley has no stuffed animals he hasn’t destroyed, so now I just buy him rubber toys and those take a beating quite well.
My guys have a toy called “red dog” because it’s … a red dog. They know to “go get red dog!” on command. I love it.
I wouldn’t have noticed your bra, you silly. But now that you mention it, I need to shop for those too. I have a bad habit of wearing the same ones for YEARS.
I would have gotten the chocolate sea salt pop. I’m not into chocolate ice cream, but any pairing of choc and sea salt has my interest. Banana cinnamon would be my #2- but they ALL look good!
That bra is really old and not as supportive as it once was! I’ve had the chocolate sea salt before; it is really good!
I like that Tucker is having more events on Main St, but the Summerfest was a bit of a bummer. There wasn’t much going on, but we would have been less inclined to duck into Las Colinas for ginormous $4 mugs of Dos Equis and Olympics viewing had their been more cover on a fairly hot summer day. Other than that, King of Pops was prolly the highlight (I had habanero pineapple).
