Is it Wednesday night already? This week has been flying by. Not that I’m complaining. I have had a lot on my plate at work for the past week, mostly due to being behind from taking three vacation days, but also just because. I finally think that I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Although, I was in a meeting with some executives this afternoon and I told them that I’d have a project done by Friday. A project that I didn’t know about until about 3:30 pm. I work best under pressure, so it’s all good and plus, it makes the week fly by.
Though I like being busy at work, sometimes it’s fun to have a mid-week fun break and tonight I had a little sushi dinner date.

A few months ago, Tina and I were trying to decide on a sushi restaurant that was in-between her house and my office and settled on Sushi House. It’s like this random little hole in the wall in a strip mall with a Goodwill store and not much else. The sushi is really good though. We started out with some edamame and then moved on to the main course.

We sat around chatting about anything and everything for about an hour and a half. It was a fun little dinner date in the middle of the week. On my drive home, I started thinking that I really wanted something sweet and remembered that I had some No Bake Energy Balls in my freezer. Okay, I’m totally lying, I was thinking about these during dinner.

While they are absolutely delicious, they don’t really stick together well. You can’t tell from the picture, but there are a lot of crumbs at the bottom. I think it’s because I used unsweetened coconut flakes which are much drier than the sweetened variety.
Completely unrelated to sushi or balls, I need new music to download. Any suggestions? Preferably not pop.

Sounds like a nice evening overall! I do my best work under pressure too.
I have a music suggestion, not sure if you are a Dave Matthews Band fan but his latest collection “Away from here” is very, very good, I love his moral consciousness.
Also, rediscovered Peter Gabriel, “New Blood.”

I love Dave Matthews! I’m actually going to go see them in December.
I work best under pressure too. Good luck getting it all done!
Looks like you guys had a great meal. I wish I could have come! Strip mall Asian food is the best.
When you’re done with your comp, let’s make a date.
It was so fun! And crazy how good that place is. I wonder if it gets crowded at lunch? Anyway, great time seeing you last night! We’ll have to do it again soon like a monthly date or something. And those balls do look yummy!
Great seeing you too. We should definitely do it more often.
Sounds like a fun night! I wish I had some music suggestions. I’m so out of the loop with music. I did just buy The Lumineers though and love it!
I just bought that too, actually!
My favorite sushi place in DC (well Arlington) is in a run-down mall next to my work. It makes no sense, but I seriously can’t find any better sushi anywhere.
Sounds like a fun night!
Sushi dates are the best – Kirk and I did the same last night! And I’m with you – I love being busy at work, so it flies by. Even if it’s a little stressful, I work best with a tight deadline for sure.
I gotta admit, I’ve been loving country lately. Some of it’s really fun! I downloaded these yesterday:
“Beer Money” – Kip Moore
“The One That Got Away” – Jake Owen
“More Trucks Than Cars” – Craig Morgan
I love sushi but I can’t tolerate soy (including soy sauce). Most Asian food is out for me
i just saw grizzly bear in concert and they were pretty amazing. i think they would be up your street. check out the 2009 ‘veckatimest’ album first. i haven’t listen to the 2012 enough yet, but so far it seems just as good.
