Murphy’s 6th Birthday

Suffice to say, this week has been pretty shitty.   But Saturday we wanted do something fun because it was someone’s 6th birthday.

Murphy

We got Murphy when he was two.  I can’t believe he’s been our dog for four years.  Although I can’t really remember our lives without him either.  We decided that getting out of the house would be good for everyone and went to a new to us dog park called Park Grounds.

We normally go to the Piedmont Park Dog Park, but this one was pretty cool.  It was half dog park and half coffee shop.

There was also an indoor coffee shop part that I didn’t get a picture of.  Murphy enjoyed running around with the other dogs.

I’m not sure if it’s because he’s suddenly more mature now that he’s six or because the park space was much smaller than Piedmont, but he was much better behaved.  No butt biting at all!  We hung out with him in the park part for a while before going onto the patio (where dogs are not allowed) to get something to eat.  I had the vegan hummus sandwich on sourdough.  It wasn’t the best sandwich that I’ve had, but I’m always happy when they offer some sort of vegetarian sandwich.

We stayed there for maybe an hour and a half until Murphy was sufficiently worn out.  Happy Birthday Buddy!
