The Last Day of 2012

I keep having to remind myself (or rather Jason keeps reminding me) that 2012 wasn’t necessarily a bad year.  Yes, the end was pretty difficult but things before the end of November were pretty good and while I had a few tough weeks there, I feel like my life is back to normal again.

Since Jason has to work tonight, we figured that there’s no reason why we couldn’t go out for New Year’s Eve during the day instead of at night.  Less crowded, no drunk drivers.  We get to spend the time together.  It’s a win-win, right?  We went to The Brickstore Pub in Decatur.  The Brickstore is always, always super crowded and at 1pm, it was no different.  It also occurred to me that I spent a New Years Eve there before, 10 years ago!  How did that happen?

I even straightened my hair for the occasion.  I can never do it that well though and it takes literally almost an hour.  I don’t understand how other curly haired girls do it every day!  I had the veggie sandwich for lunch.  It had hummus, avocado and various veggies and was delicious.

There might have been some frozen yogurt afterwards before we went home and I crashed on the couch for 2 hours.  And now it’s 8:30 on New Year’s Eve, I’m in my comfortable sweatpants and I don’t really want to be anywhere else.  2012 didn’t really turn out the way I wanted it to, but it ended okay, I guess.

  6. I totally used to be one of those curly girls who straightened every day! After moving to Atlanta, I kept “boiling my head” as my husband says until one day I just decided to stop. Just. Like. That. I’m curly now for a year or so and it feels so good!

We also had a very chill NYE. We hung at home. I’m just getting over the miserable flu that seems to working it’s way around Atlanta. Stay healthy!

    Best,
    Rikki
